GLASS MOSAIC TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS
Key Technical Features of Glass Mosaics
1.WATER ABSORBTION
Water absorption rate is one of the most important factor affecting the long-tem use of products. The completety dry glass mosaics arc thrown into boiling water, boiled for two hours, left to cool for four hours. The water absorption rate in its dry state is determined by the weight change after the test. The water absorption test result of 10 samples selected from the Faber CNK Stone glass mosaic collection is 0%.
2.SURFACE WEAR
Abrasion of glass mosaic surfaces may cause loss ot color and gloss over time. Friction and contact is provided with abrasive steel balls and various oxidants on scratch-up glass mosaic surfaces. The cycle with changes in the surface forms the product strength class. The surfaces of Faber CNK Stone gtass mosaics did not change until 750-1500 cycles.
3.FROST RESISTANCE
Freezing of glass mosaics in extreme cold causes cracking and breaking, The most defining feature in freezing is water absorption resistance. Freezing and thawing is done 50-100 times
on glass mosaics. Glass mosaics are kept at -5 C for 15 minutes and then heated to 5 C. As a result of the freezing test, damage and water absorption rate did not change in any of the 10 samples selected from the Faber CNK Stone glass mosaic collection.
4.CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Swimming pools, one of the areas where glass mosaics are used the most, are areas where chemicals are used extensively and mosaic surfaces must have high strength. Glass mosaics; ammonium chloride, sodium hypochlorite, acid and alkali are kept in solutions prepared in low and high concentrations.
Faber CNK Stone glass mosaic surfaces have been detemined as Class A, the highest class of this test, as a result of chemical tests.
5. STAIN RESISTANCE
The resistance of glass mosaics to stains is importart for long lite and use like the first day. Glass mosaics; The thin oil with dye is kept in 13g/I iodine solution, olive oil and hot water above 55 C. The suriaces of Faber CNK Stone glass mosaics have been determined as the 5th grade as a result of the staining resistance test, the highest class of this test.
