Frequently Asked Questions (Natural Stone Logistics & Weights)
On average, a standard full pallet of 1.25″ thick travertine pavers covers approximately 160 square feet and weighs roughly 3,500 to 3,800 lbs (1.7 to 1.9 tons). Because natural stone is incredibly dense, standard half-ton pickup trucks (like an F-150 or Silverado 1500) cannot safely haul a full pallet in the truck bed; you will need a 3/4-ton, 1-ton truck, or a dedicated utility trailer.
Towing capacity is the maximum weight your vehicle can pull behind it using a trailer. Payload capacity is the maximum weight you can safely add inside the vehicle itself, including passengers, gear, and the actual weight pressing down in the truck bed (or tongue weight of a trailer). When picking up stone orders from our Texas depots, always check your specific door jamb sticker for the maximum cargo/payload limit.
Yes. If your truck cannot safely handle the stone payload, we provide professional flatbed delivery services equipped with piggyback forklifts (Moffetts) directly to job sites in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and surrounding areas. This ensures your marble or travertine order is dropped exactly where your hardscape crew needs it.
